On the occasion of the 6th World Malaria Day, Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) would like to celebrate the progress made with partners in developing new drugs for malaria, and the tremendous impact these have had on the ground.
We would also like to draw attention to the significant gaps that remain. It is imperative that the malaria community ensures that available tools are used to the greatest effect, including pursuing elimination where possible; and tools for tomorrow are developed as quickly as possible to contribute to the ultimate eradication of malaria.

Tools exist today – we must act now and deliver existing, effective drugs to under-served populations if we are to reduce malaria incidence by 75% and malaria deaths to zero by 2015.
