'Sustaining the Momentum: The importance of partnerships in the fight against malaria'
The meeting was the first-ever forum jointly hosted by Medicines for Malaria Venture and Barcelona Centre for International Health Research (CRESIB) in Barcelona, Spain on 15 March 2010.
The continued funding of malaria drug R&D is critical in the fight against malaria and in the effort to ultimately achieve malaria elimination and eradication. The well-attended forum brought together high-level representatives from the pharmaceutical industry, donor governments, and philanthropic institutions in an unprecedented meeting of minds. It emphasized the need for continued funding in the fight to achieve malaria eradication and underlined the fact that partnership amongst sectors was the only way to vanquish the minute but deadly foe - the malaria parasite.
A comprehensive report on the meeting will be available shortly and will cover all the panel discussions, most of which did not consist of formal presentations. The PowerPoint presentations that were made are available below.
