Ray Chambers appointed WHO Ambassador for Global Strategy

The Ambassador for Global Strategy is a new position designed to mobilize the global health community in its efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. The position will also help raise awareness about WHO’s critical role in promoting health and wellbeing for all.
Ray Chambers will work alongside governments, donors and private sector entities to support WHO’s efforts in advocating decision makers to prioritize global health needs.
“MMV extends warmest congratulations to Ray on his appointment as WHO’s Ambassador of Global Strategy,” said David Reddy, CEO of MMV. “Ray has been an outstanding advocate for malaria control and eradication and has provided invaluable guidance for MMV during his tenure as MMV's Board Chairman for over 4 years. We look forward to his continued advocacy to advance the global health agenda towards universal health coverage.”
Mr Chambers is former United Nations Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Health in Agenda 2030 and for Malaria, and Co-Founder of Malaria No More. He was nominated one of TIME Magazine’s 100 most influential people in 2011.
