MMV receives rank of “very high performer” in 2023 Global Health 50/50 report for 2nd year
The sixth edition of the report analyses gender equality in workplace policies in global health organizations

On 12 July, Global Health 50/50, an initiative that assesses organizational commitment to gender equality in global health, launched the sixth edition of its report. MMV has been ranked a “very high performer” in the accompanying scoring index for the second consecutive year, receiving the highest possible score on eight of ten pillars including public commitment to gender equality, board diversity and sex disaggregation of data. MMV also received recognition as a ”fast riser" for the organization's progress over consecutive years.
The Global Health 50/50 annual report and index provides the most comprehensive overview of the state of gender and equity in global health. It is evidence-based, evaluating over 200 of the most influential organizations active in health and health policy. The report is key to ensuring that these topics remain on the agenda for global health policy and organizational decision-making.
MMV is pleased to have performed so well in the 2023 report, demonstrating its commitment to diversity and equity through its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy and has achieved gender parity on the Board of Directors and in its senior leadership. MMV achieved the highest score on 8/10 criteria, making strong progress since the inclusion in the report in 2018.
MMV’s CEO, Dr David Reddy, acknowledges that there is still more to do: “It is satisfying to see the progress we have made as an organization year on year. Achieving diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace, in our leadership and in our programs remains an MMV priority today and going forward.”
