Understanding more about the antimalarials market in Africa: Progress in a new field of research

MMV will be hosting a symposium this year at ASTMH looking at measuring the antimalarials market in Africa.

After a highly successful symposium last year, which was the first ever at ASTHM to consider the interaction between market data and public health need, we will present the results of an extremely fruitful year.

The symposium will take place on Friday 20 November 2009 from 3:45pm - 5:30pm in the Washington I Room, Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, Washington DC 

Presentations will address the following questions:

• What kinds of market data do donors and companies require to improve investments?
• What do we know about donor funding for antimalarials?
• Sizing the market, can we use market analysis approaches commonly used in USA/Europe in an African context?
• How can we measure what is really happening at the end of the supply chain in rural Africa?
