Project name: Screening of kinetoplastid nucleic acids and proteins targets that bind to a Pathogen Box target molecule and have intracellular functionality

How will this funding will help advance your research?

With this grant we have an opportunity to mine existing bioinformatics and functional genomics data to move the neglected disease research agenda forward.

We are working to demonstrate that RNA could be a primary drug target for the development of next-generation drugs for sleeping sickness and kala-azar. In addition, using several novel and digital technologies we have developed, we will be able to use functional genomics data in the development of lead drugs for these diseases.
