Ministerial Forum of the Sahel Malaria Elimination Initiative (SaME)

The Sahel Malaria Elimination Initiative (SaME) is a sub-regional platform for collaboration, launched on 31 August 2018 in Dakar, Senegal, by the Ministers of Health of eight countries in the Sahel region (Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Gambia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal and Chad), to accelerate the elimination of malaria in the Sahel region.

The SaME Ministerial Forum meeting, held alongside the African Union Conference, will allow members to review and approve the Joint SaME Initiative Implementation Plan for 2019 and indicate on the way forward. This meeting will also provide an opportunity to engage with global partners, and bilateral to discuss on the vision set by the initiative.
