GMP/MMV's Antimalarial Resistance Online Forum
WHO Global Malaria Program and MMV host an interactive 4 week online forum about AMR in Africa
18th-24th November is the World AMR Awareness Week. You are kindly invited to join an online discussion forum on antimalarial drug resistance in Africa which we are launching with the WHO Global Malaria Programme as part of the events of the week. This forum will run for a few additional weeks and will be hosted on the AMR Community Exchange platform - A WHO-hosted space to connect, exchange and learn with a community of like-minded members:
The forum aims to draw attention to antimalarial resistance as part of the antimicrobial resistance challenge, familiarize participants with the WHO strategy to respond to antimalarial drug resistance in Africa and offer an opportunity to connect with key stakeholders to discuss needs and opportunities for scaling up action.
We will start this initiative with a video/podcast which will be available on the platform from 18th November and which will feature Adam Aspinall and George Jagoe, MMV's experts on AMR, Dorothy Achu, Regional Malaria Adviser for the WHO African Region, and Aimable Mbituyumuremyi, Director of the National Malaria Control Program in Rwanda.
