What I do at MMV:
As Finance Officer, I assist the Chief Financial Officer and Finance Director in providing timely and accurate information to management. I register invoices and prepare payments for grant recipients, suppliers and project partners. In addition to managing general administrative expenses, I participate in audits and I am responsible for MMV’s fixed asset management and accounting, as well as item matching and inventory. I work closely with the R&D team, helping to coordinate budgets and with the External Relations team, to allocate funding received from grants.
Why I work at MMV:
It’s exciting to be part of an organization like MMV. Malaria kills so many people and I am proud to play a role in helping to defeat it.
More about me:
Prior to joining MMV in 2011, I worked for international companies in various sectors including internet security, cosmetics and frames. My latest position was at VeriSign, as a Senior Accountant, managing a team of 3 people. I was responsible for the General Ledger accounting and the monthly closing for companies in Switzerland, UK, France and Spain. I also took care of inter-company recharge calculation, billing and reconciliation and integration of new companies acquired by the group. Before that, I spent 7 fantastic years working for LA Eyeworks, frame designers in Los Angeles.
Ask me about:
Outside of MMV, the best words to describe me are creative and artistic! Music is very important for me, and I sing as well as play the guitar in a band. I also like food, cooking, reading, and writing, as well as walking in nature, which is a treat for my senses!
