Soazig Bertrand

Associate Director, Finance

What I do at MMV:

I’m in charge of the operational part of MMV Finance, managing the team in charge of invoices and payments. I’m responsible for specific entries, monthly closings, and account reconciliations, as well as the preparation of the statutory audits. I work with all divisions of MMV including donors: budgets proposals, costs allocation and financial reporting.

I am an expert of our financial database, Navision and support the CFO to extract, prepare, and analyze the figures, follow budgets and LBEs, so that the management team can follow the figures at any time.

My key strengths are in driving a strong team spirit and work to think collectively. As an example I organize a clothes exchange at MMV annually to help the planet and my MMV colleagues.

Why I work at MMV:

It’s exciting to be part of an organization like MMV. Malaria kills so many people and I am proud to play a role in helping to defeat it. Collaboration is my leitmotiv. I do everything I can every day to help and develop mutual aid, so that all together we can eradicate malaria.

More about me:

Prior to joining MMV in 2011, I worked for international companies in various sectors including internet security, cosmetics and frames. My latest position was at VeriSign, as a Senior Accountant, managing a team of 3 people. I was responsible for the General Ledger accounting and the monthly closing for companies in Switzerland, UK, France and Spain. I also took care of inter-company recharge calculation, billing and reconciliation and integration of new companies acquired by the group. Before that, I spent 7 fantastic years working for LA Eyeworks, frame designers in Los Angeles.

Ask me about:

Outside of MMV, the best words to describe me are creative and artistic! Music is very important for me, and I sing as well as play the guitar in a band. I also like food, cooking, reading, and writing, as well as walking in nature, which is a treat for my senses!
