Katya Halil

Associate Director, Advocacy
Corporate Affairs

What I do at MMV:

I work on the advocacy team to support the creation of funding opportunities and enabling policies for MMV’s work.

Why I work at MMV:

It’s exciting to work for an organization that drives innovation against malaria, a disease that affects mainly the poor. MMV succeeds by meeting the needs of people as the end goal, promoting collaboration over competition, and supporting a balanced approach to intellectual property. What I appreciate most about MMV are the colleagues I work with, who are creative, collaborative, and passionate.

More about me:

I have worked since 2002 in a number of communications and advocacy positions in United Nations agencies and public private partnerships including UNESCO, the joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS, the Roll Back Malaria Partnership, the World Health Organization and the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. I have a Master of Science degree in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a Master of Arts degree in French Literature from the University of Toronto.

Ask me about:
