What I do at MMV:
As a director of product development I lead multi-disciplinary project teams to work in close collaboration with MMV’s development partners towards advancing antimalarial drugs from proof-of concept to registration.
Why I work at MMV:
Working for a non-profit organization, that has the aim to identify treatments and ultimately eradicate malaria is a great motivation for me. Moreover, MMV is unique in that it encompasses all drug development disciplines, from discovery to access, into one small and effective organization. Combining this business model together with the important mission to defeat malaria, working at MMV gives me the opportunity to make a high impact contribution. I am very excited to be a part of MMV’s endeavor.
More about me:
I joined MMV in 2019 after many years at Roche R&D in different roles including discovery, operations, strategy, and clinical development. In the last five years I was a project leader in onco immunology, responsible for developing drug combinations that influence the immune system to fight cancer. I grew up in Chile, studied in the US, completed my PhD at the ETH in Zurich and then returned to the US to complete my post doc.
Ask me about:
Drug development of combinations, biologics and genetics. I also love to discuss science in general, literature, jazz, and cycling trips.
