Dominique Besson
Associate Director, Discovery Data
What I do at MMV:
As Discovery Compound and Data Manager, I harmonize research data flows, granting access to reliable R&D information for the MMV team and our research partners. I also manage collaborations with external partners, support compound management work and provide the R&D database framework.
Why I work at MMV:
It has been a long-term objective of mine to work for a PDP, active in the area of neglected disease. I have been collaborating with MMV since 2012. Joining the core team is a great opportunity to work closely with MMV’s network of scientific experts and to further my own knowledge in the area of malaria.
More about me:
I have more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and in the international arena, working for the WHO. I hold a chemical engineering degree and MBA in sustainability and leadership. I’m 48, married to Wilma, a wonderful women who gave me two boys, Quentin and Virgile.
Ask me about:
We could certainly speak about compound or data management, database structure and compound acquisition… but I would prefer to chat about sustainability, tennis and cooking. Also, I’m always eager to share my (good) wine tasting experience. Finally, as I write album reviews for the webzine www.auxportesdumetal.com, I would be happy to give recommendations on the newest heavy metal/ progressive rock n roll albums.
