I have 20 years of experience in the life sciences industry in positions in business development, clinical development, and public and private equity investment. Prior to joining MMV in 2011, I was an independent consultant, providing transaction support and analysis services to companies, public sector organisations, and institutional investors in the life sciences industry. Before starting my own business in 2007, I was an Investment Manager at Inventages Venture Capital. I have also been Executive Vice President, Head of Business Development, at Berna Biotech – an 800-person Swiss vaccines company (now Crucell, a member of the Johnson & Johnson group) – and I served on the executive board of Private Life BioMed, a venture capital investor. Before moving into the field of business development, I worked as an investment banking analyst and also spent several years in clinical development, primarily at SmithKline Beecham Biologicals (now GSK Vaccines). My Ph.D. is in cell biology, from the University of Manchester, UK, and my B.A. (Hons.) is in Natural Sciences (Biochemistry), from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.
