Anne Claire Marrast

Senior Medical Director

What I do at MMV:

As Senior Medical Director, I lead strategy and activities related to the development of products with a focus on clinical trials from proof of concept studies to registration. These projects include treatment of acute uncomplicated malaria and severe malaria as well as chemoprotection/chemoprevention with various therapeutic combination strategies.

Why I work at MMV:

Since my days in medical school, I've always had a strong interest in global health and infectious diseases including parasitic diseases.

Throughout my career in the pharmaceutical industry (namely at Novartis), I had the opportunity to work on malaria projects and contribute in particular to the completion of the phase III  program and registration of Coartem® Dispersible (artemether-lumefantrine) developed in partnership with MMV. These years were the most rewarding years of my career – I learned how big of an impact can be made by closing gaps for unmet medical needs thanks to innovative and affordable curative treatments.

More about me:

Before joining MMV and after few years working as a nephrologist fellow in France, I have held various positions in clinical development and medical affairs (transplantation and immunology,  cardiovascular diseases and infectious diseases including malaria and leprosy). I've worked in various parts of the world (Europe, United States and Asia) in very multi-cultural environments. I've contributed to various projects as a team leader or subject matter expert working as part of cross-functional teams.

Ask me about:
