What I do at MMV:
As Associate General Counsel, I help lead the legal team and I provide legal, contractual and risk management guidance with respect to MMV’s R&D and Access projects, in particular for discovery work. I also advise on IP management and legal compliance generally.
Why I work at MMV:
Having seen the impact that malaria had on my friends and former colleagues living in malaria endemic areas, I am extremely motivated to contribute my legal skills to the goal of malaria eradication. The enthusiasm of the team at MMV is palpable, and I am happy to work with colleagues who are committed and enthusiastic about the mission of the organization.
More about me:
Prior to joining MMV my career included working on four continents and in various sectors: in a law firm, at the United Nations, as regulatory enforcement counsel, and in the private sector. Throughout this journey I have always enjoyed learning, both in and outside of work, and I am passionate about the importance of the rule of law. I spent my childhood in Canada and Hong Kong and I am a Canadian, British and Swiss citizen. I have a BA (Hons.) with a major in political science and minor in art history from Carleton University, and an LL.B. from the University of Manitoba, and I am a member of the Law Society of Alberta (Canada). I am also a licensed basketball referee.
Ask me about:
Negotiation and dispute resolution strategies, governance best practices and why boilerplate clauses are important! Outside of work, I love travel, live music, hiking, skiing, sailing, and many other sports. I am also happy to discuss judicial independence, Formula 1, NHL hockey, and basketball.
